Edinburgh Thistle Cut and Engraved Sherry Glasses

Two stunning pieces of Edinburgh Crystal - a pair of Vintage (1950's) Sherry Glasses, shaped as thistles and engraved.
The bulbous body of each glass sparkles with a facet cut, above which is pinched in 'waist' which has a row of 12 small panel cuts. Both these features provide a grip for the glass. The flared upper plain surface of the glass is engraved/etched with two pairs of thistles and associated leaves. The stem is slice cut from the underside of the bowl with the flattened surfaces terminating just above the foot into a smooth round stem form, subtle attention to detail to be expected of the Edinburgh factory of this period..
The maker's mark with the words 'MADE IN EDINBURGH SCOTLAND' is acid etched on the star cut base of the stems.
Sadly, the factory closed some years ago, so beautiful glasses like this are a finite resource.
Each piece of Edinburgh Crystal Thistle pattern was handmade. Unlike machine made glass, no two pieces of handmade glass are exactly alike.
Dimensions - approx. 112mm high, 61mm rim diameter, 52mm base diameter.
Condition - excellent condition. No chips or cracks.
